Adara Rainbow Shawl

Hi everyone : )

I've been knitting for a year and a half. This is my first KAL and my first shawl. It was love at first sight when I saw Elann's newsletter with the Adara Rainbow Shalw. I couldn't wait for the yarn to become available for purchase. And when I received my order I couldn't wait to start. So I had already started when I found about this KAL thanks to Google and of course to Lisa for hosting it : ) I now have 16 pattern repeats completed out of the 29 repeats required. Enough that it's starting to look like a shawl but not nearly close to being finished since it's a triangle shawl worked from the point up. I really like how the pattern combines the different colours.
Here is a close-up sneak peek at my shawl :

I'm waiting for the official starting date to share a pic of my progress so far.

Happy knitting!

Arie

Just beautiful, Arie! What yarn are you using? Are you alternating or is it self striping yarn? Enjoy the KAL.

Wow, Arielle!!! You're teasing some of us who don't have our projects chosen yet! Your rainbow shawl is coming along beautifully...I want one of THOSE now too!

RATS, you're confusing me even more in my decision making...!?!

Hi Arie! Welcome to the KAL!!! I'm glad I'm not the only shawl neophyte here. :-) But omigosh, is everyone on this KAL related to Speedy Gonzalez? LOL. I haven't started mine yet. Your shawl looks great, can't wait to see more of it.

Thank you all for your comments : ) Joan, I am using the recommended yarn for the pattern, Elann Adara, in its 12 colours. So I do have to "break and attach" after every six row repeat... which so far is the only downside to this project. Not that I mind the actual breaking and attaching of new yarn, that actually gives me a false sense of being a very prolific knitter since I get to use another yarn ball so often ; ) I'm just not looking forward to weaving in the dozens of ends I'll end up with!
