Victorian Lace Shawl

Hi everyone,
I'm so excited to be a part of this. I'm making the Victorian Lace Shawl out of Jaeger Trinity in the Oatmeal color. I'm having to do some adjustment as the yarn called for in the pattern only has 91 yds per ball and you are supposed to change needle size everytime you add a new ball. My Jaeger Trinity yarn has 218 yds per ball so I guess I'll "eyeball" it to change needle size at about half way through the skein.

I started last night (seems a lot of us are starting before May 1) and have 22 rows done. Actually, I started it twice - the first time I realized I had misunderstood the directions, but once I figured that out everything is going well.

No pictures or knitting blog yet. My son has my digital camera and while I can take pictures with my cell phone I haven't learned how to upload them to anything.

Looking forward to hearing about everyone's shawl and all the updates.

Susie

I'm also planning to do that shawl (although it might not be the first one I do). I also have the yarn issue. My skeins are about 300 yards each. Someone suggested to me to weigh the yarn and then weight the skein throughout the knitting and once I've used 1/3 of the skein to switch needles. I'm going to give it a try!

I would love to do that shawl too but don't really have a grasp on the instructions even tho' I've read thru them a few times. Will be watching yours!

Well it looks like you have your digital camera back but if you ever need to use your cell phone camera (which I did before I got my digital camera) just email the picture to yourself from your cell phone :). hehe I've also used my web cam for pictures on my blog before the cell phone with a camera. :)

I am so glad you are using that yarn. I bought some on sale at Webs thinking it would be a good shawl yarn, and now you can "try it out for me." What a great pattern.
