Moonlight Sonata started

Made it through the first pattern repeat yesterday. I had some trouble with the Double Inc instructions and didn't like the way mine looked. I consulted Montse Stanley to no avail so I just made them the only way I know how. K1, K1tbl, K1 all in the same stitch.

The Baby Silk is a pleasure to knit. I am glad I made the Swallowtail first or I would not have had the gumption to try this pattern.

You are off to a great start! I love that color. You are much braver than I. I like patterns that give you a "break" on every other row (i.e. purl the wrong side.) Looking forward to more progress shots. Happy knitting!

That color will look amazing with your coloring! Bet it feels good to work with too. Like Kelly, I need the break in a lace pattern to pulr a row back. Gives me a fighting chance when tinking.

Looks like a good start. Am looking forward to seeing more. I thought about doing Moonlight Sonata for about 10 secs before I realized it was too ambitious for a first shawl.
